I had this crazy idea last night that today I should have a smoothie day. I don’t normally categorize my days but this was going to be an exception.
To be honest it was not really a smoothie day as only got round to making one smoothie. But hey! It is a very yummy single smoothie. !!

Here is the list of important ingredents:

–          Handful of Boysenberries

–          Handful of Raspberries

–          ½ cup Greek Yoghurt

–          ½ cup Organic Milk (You can use whatever  milk you like)

–          Splash of Vanilla Essence

–          A very healthy sprinkling of Milo Powder

And you guessed it. Blend it like crazy and pour into a tall glass. I like to finish it off with a drizzle of berry sauce and a sprinkling of Milo on the top.

Cheers

It’s a rather bland day outside and the collection of movies is rather boring, so me and my friend Nadja decided to make some chocolate Cookies.

After getting the shock of the massive White Tail Spider crawling on the bench, give us a break it was massive. We proceeded on making these chocolate Chip Cookies.

Here is the list of ingredients and the all important recipe.

2 cups (250g) self-raising flour
170g butter, melted
1 ½ cup (110g) white sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla essence
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 cups dark chocolate chips

Preparation method
Prep: 10 minutes | Cook: 15 minutes | Extra time: 15 minutes but wont b needed unless u get attacked !
1.Preheat the oven to 165 degrees celcius. Line two cookie trays with baking paper
2.Sift the flour, set aside.
3.In a medium bowl, cream together the melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar until well blended. Beat in the vanilla, egg, and egg yolk until light and creamy. Mix in the sifted ingredients until just blended.
4.Stir in the chocolate chips by hand using a wooden spoon. Drop big, round tablespoons of the dough onto the prepared cookie trays, leaving plenty of room for spreading.
5.Bake for 15 to 17 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are lightly toasted. Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Omg the cookie dough tastes so good. Very tempting to just eat this now. Who says it has to be cooked But is best to wait as result is even better. ☺

Thats mine on the right and Nadjas on the Left.

As we were about to put them in the oven Nadja accidentally decided to drop on the floor. we are now 2 biscuits less.
We have to cook each tray separately, don’t know if there will be any dough left to cook. ☺
Slowly picking away at the uncooked yummy goodness.

Unlike my other cooking attempt these turned out a great success. Well that depends on how you look at it. They do not at all look or taste the pure beauty of Subway cookies, but they sure do taste amazing. So in our eyes success !!!!
Think I should mention that we did not exactly follow the recipe properly. It says to add brown sugar as well as white sugar. But to the unfortunate event we don’t have any brown sugar. And a shop is to far away. So completely forgot about the brown sugar and put in an extra half a cup of white sugar. A complete uneducated and very very lucky guess.

Away we went dunking them in a cup of milk. Omg…. absolutely divine.

So have a go, play round with the recipe. What is the worst that can happen?

Every girl I am sure wanted once to be a princess. The palace, prince charming and well… the dress. That huge eye-catching glimmering in the light dress. The one that makes you the prettiest in the room. The belle of the ball. For me, this dress would come very close.

This is an evening dress designed in 1952-53 by the one and only Christian Dior!! Wow oh wow. If that does not say princess, I would no idea what does.

But not everyone is the same, so if that does not tickle your fancy. What about this one. Designed by Edward Molyneux for his fall/winter collection of 1939-40.

Stunning !!!!
I am in love. But of course these dress may be a little hard to come across as they are in the exhibits in the Metropolitan Museum but as my mother always says… Dreams are free. ♥

Happy Dreaming

This is following the coconut ice disaster of before.
It is eatable !!!!
At this very moment it is still setting in the fridge. (are you meant to do that) and I can happily say that it was not the full disaster than I thought it would be. So yeah it may not have that normal coconut ice to layer thing and half of it is still stuck to the bottom of the saucepan but who cares. You can eat it with a spoon !!!

So either I am a complete idiot or I am on to something new and fun to eat.

xx

Today I thought that it would be fun to jump into the kitchen and do some baking. Now I am happy to admit that it is not my forte, but i thought… coconut ice – that cant be hard. Wow could I have been more mistaken.

This is the result…
Think that I may need some help

So if any body has a full proof recipe for Coconut Ice, it would be very welcome. I am willing to try out all your recipes and blog about all my results.

So with Christmas over and the New Year has rolled in. I believe that it is time to hit the beach.
So …
Togs- check
Nails painted- check
Working on the tan- check
The last thing left on the list is Beach Hair. I am the type of person who likes to look natural. But… well lets say my hair is not always on the best side of natural. But after much trial of error I have found something that gives you the best natural beach looking hair. This home made Beach Hair spray is my most have for this summer. It takes only a few seconds to make.

You don’t always have to follow it to the letter and there is no right or wrong way to do it. So think of these as guidelines.
So here is what you need to make it on your own.

16 fl oz. of plain old tap water.
Sea salt, you only need a few pinches. Also make sure you use sea salt, and not the table salt you put on your food.
Conditioner, a few squirts depending on the dryness of your hair.
A small dab or low hold hair gel.
You can also ad some essential oils if you have dry hair.
Or if you hair is oily hair adding tea tree oil can help.

You will want to add this into a clean spray bottle and give it a mix.
Once all mixed spray evenly through out your hair. I tend to scrunch my hair up with a towel and then let it dry on its own.
So give it a go and have fun with it.

But if homemade is not your thing there are many sprays you can get from the many sprys you can pick up from a store.

HAVE FUN !!

Grown up Hot Chocolate with homemade baileys marshmallows.

Grown Up Hot Chocolate

[lightly adapted from food network]

serves about 6

3 cups whole milk

1 1/2 cups cream or half and half

1/4 cup cocoa powder (I used Hershey’s Special Dark)

4 ounces milk chocolate, chopped

1/3 cup sugar

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

pinch of salt

4-6 ounces of marshmallow (or vanilla, cake, whipped cream) vodka

In a large bowl, mix together cocoa powder, sugar, cinnamon and salt. Heat a large saucepan over medium heat and add milk and cream. Bring to a simmer, stirring every few minutes. Add 2-3 tablespoons of the milk to the cocoa and sugar, mixing thoroughly to create a paste. Once the entire thing is wet, use a spatula to add it to the milk and turn the heat down to low. Whisk continuously until smooth (do not let it boil), the whisk in chopped chocolate and vanilla extract.

Remove from heat and whisk in vodka, or add to each glass right before serving. Top with marshmallows and whipped cream.

For the Bailey’s marshmallows, I used this exact recipe for beer marshmallows, substituting Bailey’s for beer.

So Christmas shopping time again.  And if buying presents where not hard enough, buying a present for your boyfriend is by sure the hardest. To help you out, i have done my research and have made a list of the few things to buy your guy. Cheap and a little bit over the cheap price.

'Dawson' Crew Tee

I found this top in Jeans West.

1) Now to be honest you can not go wrong with a simple T-Shirt. And with you choosing it, your guy is sure to look hot.
You can get them from your any local mens shop. Like Hallensteins, Jeans West,Just Jeans and well anywhere else you can think of. If your good at bargain hunting, in which I am sure you are, you can pick up some hot tees for a hot as price.

2)If your guy is a sporty guy, then why not get him tickets to the next game of his favourite sport that comes to your town. I think that this a really nice thing to do. It’s quite personal. Also instead of getting only the one ticket you could get him a season pass. I am very sure he would love that.

3) If your guy is a rocker, I am sure you would not go wrong with a CD of his favourite band, or and music DVD. They really seem to go down a treat

4) This may sound a bit odd, but I made my guys friends the simplest bead bracelet. With plain black or blue beads. So I am thinking that if you are looking for a small thing to add to a present, then that’s a good idea. It is cute as well. I have found that guys do like homemade things. I guess it means they will always be wearing something that will remind them of you. ♥

5) And finally, If you still can not decide. Take them out for dinner. It is a oldy but a cutie.  Or even cook for them. I have reason to believe that guys would LOVE this.

But I do have to leave you with this. I know that you have heard it a thousand times already. But Christmas is not all about the gifts. Tell him that you love him and he will be happy. ♥

Happy Shopping. ☺

There are only three days a year that I like to be woken up early on. My Birthday, Christmas Day and the 1 December.
There is just something about the first of December that gets me really excited.  I don’t know whether it is because now it is socially acceptable to put up my Christmas tree or cause it is the day that you open the first square on your advent calendar.
So today I have decided to once again give my post a Christmas theme. I have found the cutest little Christmas decorations that are sure to get you into the Christmas spirit.  Now to be honest, when I first think if Christmas I think of Santa.

Christmas TreeI have found the cutest Santa ordainment’s that will look good anywhere around the house. These   JOYfull Santa would look perfect on a windowsill or a table.

So happy decorating, and to be honest I think that whatever way that you do it, it will be perfect. You can never go wrong. Each house is decorated differently giving it CHARACTER !!!

Happy Decorating  !!!
